Workforce and Stability Program Department Head

We are seeking an experienced human services program manager to oversee our agency’s adult education, life skills training, workforce development and job training program, and transportation programs. This department manager position will be responsible for leading a talented team of workforce coaches, manage multiple funding streams and grants, represent New Hope in the nonprofit and business community, and most importantly, achieve our agency’s mission to share the love of Christ by supporting our neighbors in need to achieve family sustaining employment.

This is a full time, salaried position that has an annual salary of $55,000, a competitive package of benefits, and the opportunity to work with a dedicated team that makes a difference in the community. Duties include oversite of job training, GED classes, financial literacy and other self-sufficiency training; job coaching and employment support; occasional casework, and collaborative interaction with a team of staff, volunteers, and external service providers to support families and community achieve stability. We are seeking someone with at least a bachelor’s degree in a business, human resource, or human services related field, or the equivalent in training and experience, and who has experience managing professional staff, hiring, and helping promote self sufficiency. The ideal candidate will identify with our agency mission, demonstrate compassion and love for people, have experience with financial literacy and soft skills instruction, and possess cultural competence and desire to work with a diverse population to accomplish our agency’s mission. The ability to speak multiple languages would be an advantage, especially Arabic, Spanish, or Russian.

Caseworker/Assistant Manager – Mechanicsburg

We are seeking a caring and professional individual to provide case management for individuals and families in poverty and from diverse backgrounds. This is a full-time position serving at our Mechanicsburg location. Duties include screening low income individuals and families for food, housing, and utility assistance, casework and educational instruction to promote self-sufficiency, and leadership of dedicated volunteers. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, social work, organizational, and interpersonal skills, will possess at least a bachelor’s degree in social work or related field (or equivalent in training and experience), and have a desire to show the love of Christ by helping our neighbors in times of need. We are looking for culturally competent candidates with language proficiency in both English as well as one or more of the primary languages spoken by the communities we serve including Arabic, Ukrainian, Russian, Spanish, and Somali. Housing and Homeless Intake Coordinator

We are seeking a caring and professional individual to coordinate our homeless and housing intake program. This is a full-time, exempt, salaried position. Position is eligible for health, retirement and generous paid time off benefits.

Duties include screening homeless and near homeless individuals and families for emergency housing assistance needs, participating in community outreach, supporting permanent housing for individuals and families through ongoing engagement, and managing our agency housing service records and grants management. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills, have training and experience in the housing first intervention model, experience with the Homeless Management Information Systems and other case management databases. Applicants should possess at least a bachelor’s degree in social work or related field (or the equivalent in training and experience), and have a desire to share the love of Christ by helping our neighbors in times of need. We are seeking summer youth program leaders to help run summer day camp programs for low income, elementary age youth in a variety of locations including the Hanover, New Oxford, Littlestown, and Dover communities. Candidates should have teaching or youth ministry experience, the ability to relate to youth, be a good balance of fun and responsible, and have the desire to share the love of Christ by helping kids in need. Applicants should be 18 years of age or older. Our programs require a certain number of van drivers, who need to be at least 21 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license, have clean criminal and child abuse history and the ability to drive a 15 passenger van. Weekly work schedule will be Monday through Thursday, 8:30a to 4:30p. Dates of the summer program are from 6/24 to August 2. Information about our ministry is available at nhm-pa.org.
